V Festival 2004

The vibe was good, the expectations surpassed and everyone seemed happy enough getting sozzled once they worked out the beer token malarkey.

Massive Attack

Massive Attack played the NME stage and also took time out to give Oxfam a plug.

Catering mostly for fans of indie and rock, V also had a Bacardi tent (for those who wanted to throw some shapes), fairground rides and a huge vert’ ramp where you could watch people fall off skateboards and BMXs.

Who was there?

The Strokes, The Thrills, The Pixies. Jamelia, Kelis, GLC. Keane, Snowpatrol, Muse and Dido.

Massive Attack

Massive Attack rocked the NME stage. We were really chuffed when they took time out from their set to tell people where we were, what we were doing at the festival and they also spoke out against the Apartheid Wall in Palestine. They sent us bedwards happy.

Control Arms

The control arms campaign

Over the course of the festival we managed to subscribe over 2’000 new faces to the million faces pertition. Athlete and Tim Booth were also kind enough to give us a grin.

Trading tent

Girls were going crazy for the cut-price Miss Sixty stuff, especially the sexy shoes. Everything from funky shirts to blankets, and from Ghostbusters jackets to dinosaur suits. Lots of fun, and money raised.

Result of the weekend: no rain to speak of, despite all the doomsday predictions.

Own-goal of the weekend: everything finishing at 11 o’clock. Come on! What do you expect people to do?
